Process Questions
How much does it cost?
The price depends on which items you'd like to order, which you can browse here! We require a minimum order of one main piece for each reservation.
What if I don’t know what I want to order?
Don’t worry if you don’t know what you want to order yet! We recommend purchasing a Louis 6x6 pressed or resin piece as it is the smallest main item we offer. Once you see your bouquet you can opt to upgrade to a different item at drop off. Add #mbp[item name] in your IG search bar to see a bunch of examples for the item you think you’d like!
What if my wedding date isn’t available?
Our calendar is an appointment to drop off your flowers, so you can pick any available date/time up to three days after your event date. If your wedding date has already past or is within the next couple of days, please text us at 808-738-7767 to see if we can squeeze you in last minute!
Can I drop off my flowers to you?
Yes! When you order your keepsakes you must also add-on a Drop-off Reservation where you can schedule your desired date and time. If you're busy, we recommend ordering an Uber as you would a ride, and then telling your driver that they’ll just be dropping off the flowers instead of you. Do our available times not work for you? We have a "secret garden" drop box you can use at any time located just to the right of our entrance. We will provide care and transportation instructions via email once you book!
Can I mail my flowers to you?
Yes! When you order your keepsakes you must also add-on a Mail-in Reservation where you can schedule the date (pick any time available) you expect us to receive your flowers. Please mail your bouquet to us via overnight shipping. We recommend using USPS or FedEx and will provide care and shipping instructions via email once you book!
Shipping Questions
Can I ship my bouquet to you?
If you're getting married on Oahu, we recommend having someone drop it off so it can arrive in the best condition possible. If you're shipping from a neighbor island, we recommend using Fedex Overnight to ship your bouquet to us. If you plan to ship on Saturday, the only carrier who delivers overnight packages on Sunday is USPS. Please make sure to check the overnight package cut off time with the carrier you decide to use. We also have instructions to pack your bouquet so it arrives safely! If you're interested in shipping from other states, we recommend you use our flower service as overnight shipping to Hawaii can cost quite a lot. Email us if you have any questions!
How much does it cost to ship my bouquet to you?
The cost of overnight shipping your bouquet to us will depend on the size and weight of your bouquet, the size of your box, and the location where you are shipping it from. As a starting point, a small bouquet from the neighbor island costs about $50 to ship to Oahu.

Can my finished pieces be shipped?
Absolutely! We ship all over the world! We have standard rates for all 50 states included in our checkout. Shipping prices are not included in the cost of the art pieces. When your items are finished, you'll get a text with pictures of your finished product and you should expect an email with tracking information shortly after. All domestic shipping rates include priority shipping, insurance, and signature required services. Please let us know if you don't receive the email and we can text the tracking number to you. If someone is not home to sign and receive the package, please make a point to pick it up from your post office as it will be returned if not claimed. If returned to us, you will need to pay the shipping fee again.
When will my finished items ship?
Shipping times vary depending on your order, but most custom order items will take at least 3 months from the time we receive your flowers due to the lengthy process of preservation.
Product & Care Instructions
Will my flowers look like the pictures?
Each keepsake is custom made and unique! Our in-house designers have an abundance of experience and regularly create the beautiful designs you see on our pages. When you book, we give you a Design Worksheet so you can share with us any preferences you may have. Most clients will prefer to give our designers complete creative freedom to design the piece as they see fit. But, if you prefer to preview the design and share your input you are welcome to add-on our 'Design Consultation' option so that you may see the design and have one revision.
The most important factor to a beautiful preservation is great care while the flowers are still fresh. Ask your florist for a true hand-tied bouquet, save the vase and box they bring your flowers in and keep the bouquet in that vase whenever not in use. Refrain from unnecessary touching or shaking of your blooms.
It's also important to note that not all flowers dry the same. See below for more information and our IG highlights for some before and after photos!
How long does the product last?
Years! Our preservation process encapsulates each petal, leaf, and flower protecting it from humidity and preventing it from further decay. We recommend displaying in a cool and dry place away from UV rays (both florescent light and sunlight) as UV can cause your flower colors to fade and quicken the aging process of your resin turning it yellow before its time. Because the flowers and the process of preservation are natural and organic, fading of color, browning and yellowing should be expected over time. Dust, pollen, and loose pieces of flowers in pressed frames may release over time due to movement, change of temperature, shipping, or high humidity. Flowers are not chemically treated and natural aging is expected. Here at Modern Bouquet Preservation we love the idea that this reflects the passing of time and symbolizes your growth and development over time.
How do I care for my art pieces?
We recommend displaying in a cool and dry place away from UV rays (both florescent light and sunlight) as UV can cause your flower colors to fade and quicken the aging process of your resin turning it yellow before its time. Avoid leaning anything against the surface of your artwork. Your artwork should be wiped occasionally using mild soap and water with a clean non-abrasive cloth to prevent dust build up. If your artwork gets damaged, don't attempt to fix it yourself. Please contact us at modernbouquetpreservation@gmail.com.
Can all flowers be preserved?
Please note that different flowers dry differently… typically red flowers dry very dark and sometimes they look almost black and white flowers tend to yellow or brown. Different varieties of even the same type of flower produce a different shade or hue of color even though both look the same when fresh. Flowers may even have a more translucent appearance if they’ve been bruised or “hugged” too many times.
Tropical flowers can be especially difficult for pressed keepsakes - if you’ll be using tropical flowers, especially anthuriums and cymbidium or mokara orchids, we recommend you also add some non-tropical flowers to mix in and create a more vibrant preservation art piece.
In resin, painted flowers can bleed and color the resin – if you choose to preserve painted flowers we will try our best to minimize the spread of the color but cannot guarantee what the end product will look like. Take a look at our "Before and After" highlights on Instagram if you're interested in seeing some of our past work!

Do you use all the flowers in my bouquet?
It depends on what types of items, how large the items are and how many items you have in your order. Your beautiful bouquet will have the best blooms of day (as it should!), but because of the wear throughout the day, we will be sure to only use the best blooms with the least amount of imperfections. It's important for us to have as many flowers as possible as all flowers do not dry equally. Depending on your order we dry a little more than we need, so if you want to add to your order, it’s important to purchase your items by the time you drop off since we dry things differently for different keepsakes. If you plan to order a lot of items it's best to consider dropping off not only your bouquet, but maybe even a center piece or two.
What if my flowers get ruined before my appointment?
Some clients consider the wear from their wedding day sentimental, and prefer to preserve the flowers that best show the "memory wrinkles” of the day. Other clients prefer to have the most pristine flowers for preservation they can. If that’s you, you are more than welcome to provide us with an extra centerpiece – those flowers are usually in the best condition since they have water all day and aren’t handled very much. We also provide replacement flower services which you can contact us directly about if you’re interested in that!
What if my flowers are spray painted/dyed?
Depending on the type of paint your florist uses, the paint and/or dye can spread, bleed, or fleck off into the resin. Some painted flowers stay completely contained while others don't... it just depends. We will do our best to minimize the bleed of the paint, but can not guarantee the result. These flowers may change color in the resin causing the color to change once it is set. Unfortunately, we can not control nor can we fix it if the color of the flower changes once it's in the resin. See some examples here on our IG!
Will my white flowers dry white?
The short answer is unfortunately no.
White flowers dry a range of shades and hues including yellow, brown, cream, and even blue! Even within each variety of rose there are variations in the color in which they dry. The two little spray roses in this reel are a perfect example of one drying a touch more yellow and the other cream.
When compared to the true white curtain in the background, these dried flowers are much more similar in color to the cream pumpkins also in the reel.
The other thing that can drastically change the flowers dried color is how old they are and how well theyh are cared for before they reach our door. The older a flower is (literally from the time it's cut from the stem) the more yellow, brown or even green (if it's really young) it will dry.
But did you notice? The fresh white flowers in the reel aren't exactly white either! So when they dry, whatever deep hue they have comes out more with the absence of water.
If you have questions about your white flowers, reach out to us beforehand!
